General Info |
| |
Chantry House was established over 16 years ago and has become a key part of the local community. Our central location in Barnham means we can easily serve the local villages but the nearby A27 and the other good access roads means we can also offer our services to Bognor Regis, Chichester and beyond within a 15 minute drive. We have space for up to 15 cars right outside and of course this is free.
As a practice we emphasise preventative dentistry. Our busy hygiene programme and our dentists focus on preventative treatments and advice are key elements. However, when more extensive dentistry is required we also offer all aspects of general dental care as well as cosmetic treatments such as veneers and tooth whitening.
We offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the practice and our staff are highly trained and motivated in their work. Many of them have been with the practice for several years. We will be playing soothing music in the surgeries and will even listen to special requests if we have them.

Treatment Plans |
^ Top |
| |
As a new patient your dentist will perform a thorough initial examination, including all X-rays required and arrive at an overall assessment. From that they will show you a treatment plan on the chair-side computer so you can see clearly what is proposed. This may also include some pictures using our Intra-Oral Camera if that will help to explain the treatment. An estimate of the cost and any alternative treatments will also be discussed and clarified. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. We want to ensure that you fully understand and agree with the proposed treatment.
Most treatment is usually required in order to remove disease. To maintain oral health you need to follow the advice your dentist and hygienist give you relating to your treatment. Home care plays a key role in preventing further problems and that, in turn, will help you keep an attractive smile and should minimise the need for further treatment. If you do not understand your part in your oral care then please do ask for an explanation – we will be more than happy to oblige.
A written estimate and treatment plan will be provided for any courses of treatment requiring more than one visit (excluding dental hygiene appointments).

Appointments & Cancellations |
^ Top |
| |
We are a busy practice but we endeavour to see patients within a timeframe which is reasonable particularly if there is any emergency which arises. We will always do our best to see our registered patients on the same day if they have any pain or discomfort. When making an appointment we will give you an appointment card to help you remember the date and time. We appreciate that it is difficult to always remember appointments especially those booked several months in advance. Therefore, in addition to giving out an appointment card we have a policy of contacting all patients by telephone 2 – 3 days in advance of their booked time as a reminder. Having made this effort we hope you understand that we need to charge for non-attendance and/or late cancellation on the day. This charge will be either £15 for a check-up or 50% of treatment costs for any treatment appointments, including hygiene visits. We try to offer an efficient service and missed bookings prevent us from helping other patients at that time. |

Medical History |
^ Top |
| |
In order to provide treatment in the safest possible way we need to have a full understanding of all patients medical backgrounds. We ask all patients visiting the practice for the first time to complete a Medical History Form. This is for the benefit of the patient so that we are aware of any medical conditions either current or historical which may impact the treatment being undertaken. This information needs to be updated for any changes in circumstances so please keep us informed of changes to your state of health. |

Children |
^ Top |
| |
Children are welcome at the practice from an early age. We generally see children on NHS and this constitutes the most part of our NHS contract. It is important that children learn good oral hygiene habits as soon as practicable to keep them free from dental disease. We will monitor their developing teeth so that any problems can be identified early and rectified. |

Our hygienists work on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in our bright upstairs surgery. Jane and Claire are very experienced and will help you to fight against plaque build up and gum disease. Using the latest technology they will give your teeth a thorough cleaning and advise on how to keep your teeth in top condition. If access to the upstairs surgery is an issue for the elderly or disabled then we do offer hygiene in the ground floor surgery also at certain times. |

Payment |
^ Top |
| |
We are a mainly private practice and we ask that payment is made as the treatment is being undertaken. Please ensure that when you visit you have some means of payment with you. We also offer Denplan services. Denplan is a well – established way of paying for your dental requirements on a monthly basis with the added benefit that you are covered for any dental needs when away from home via the Denplan insurance scheme. Please speak to our receptionist about this service if this is something you may be interested in.
For more extensive treatments we can in certain circumstances offer payment plans to help with the costs. Again please speak to the receptionist or our Practice Manager if you would like to discuss this further. |
